THE GOLF GAPPER ANALYSIS
The Golf Gapper Analysis is a comprehensive and highly enjoyable, golf-specific assessment and evaluation intended to aid golfers of any skill level in developing a more efficient swing style. Because swing style is directly correlated with body type and body conditioning, the analysis consists of physical assessment and a wide array of tests using the most up-to-date golf technology. All of the information gleaned from the studies are first analyzed, then correlated with the client's goals and finally integrated into a simple and easy to implement, client-specific exercise, stretch and golf drill program. The end result is a more efficient swing style which translates to reduced game-related pain and discomfort, improved golf consistency, greater drive distance; and perhaps most important of all....increased enjoyment of the game.
The Golf Gapper Analysis is conducted in the Golf Gapper Mobile Lab - a state-of-the-art teaching facility, equipped with an array of technologically sophisticated equipment rarely available to the average golfer.
The next available Golf Gapper Sessions will take place at Coto de Caza Golf & Raquet Club September 7 - 14, 2015. The Coto de Caza Golf & Raquet Club is the first private 36-hole country club in Orange County. In addition to the two courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the club also offers a 44,000-square-foot clubhouse, a raquet club with 10 courts and an aquatic center with three pools.
- Initial Two-Hour Golf Gapper Session - $399.00 (Discounts may be available through your facility.)
- Follow-up One-Hour Golf Gapper Session - $150.00
- Follow-Up One/Half-Hour Gapper Session: - $80.00
We begin the interview session by discussing the client's golf-related goals and frustrations. The understanding that I gain during this session serves to inform the direction that the Gapper Analysis process will take in order to yield maximum benefit to the client. I subsequently take a basic health history with emphasis on the client's past injuries and surgeries and current physical limitations. The information yielded during this portion of the interview session serves to refine the focus of the Gapper Analysis process. The interview session concludes with an in-depth question and answer session.
Golf-Specific Functional Movement Screening
Functional Movement Screening is based upon the protocols of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). Key to the TPI system is the tenet that there is a direct correlation between an individual's body type and body conditioning are the characteristics of his or her golf swing. Through the TPI Golf Screening process I am able to identify the physical limitations that shape the client's swing and contribute to painful movement. The results of the screening, when shared, can also serve to facilitate communication between the client's coach, trainer and medical provider.
V1 Pro Video Swing Analysis
V1 Pro is the #1 video swing analysis system in golf. During this portion of the analysis, I use two HD cameras to capture the client's swing on video. Analysis of this video allows for measurement of primary swing faults which can be correlated with the client's goals and physical limitations. The findings are then integrated into client-specific recommendations intended to mitigate the identified swing faults.
Swing Catalyst Balance Plate Evaluation
The Swing Catalyst Balance Plate adds an important dimension to golf instruction. The Balance Plate, on which the client stands while executing his or her golf swing, consists of high-resolution pressure sensors which provide detailed foot pressure data. This data is synchronized with high-speed video images which are later reviewed for the purpose of identifying atypical and correctable pressure patterns.
Aline Foot Assessment
During this assessment, the client moves through a range of static and dynamic positions while standing on a fitting platform barefooted. With benefit of a laser measurement, I am able to identify lower extremity misalignment and muscle imbalances. In the event that such abnormalities are observed, the evaluation is repeated with the client standing on ALINE Suspension System Insoles. If those cases where substantial improvement is seen during the second phase of the assessment, I will recommend golf shoe inserts tailored to the findings.
K-Vest 3D Swing Analysis
Developed by Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), the K-Vest captures and analyzes the 3D motion of a golfer's swing and provides biomechanical information about swing efficiency via a kinematic sequence graph. This information illustrates the causes of distance and accuracy issues which aid in the development of customized exercise protocols which ultimately aid the golfer in achieving his or her goals.
Exercise and Stretch Recommendations and Practice
Drawing upon the information gleaned from the initial interview session combined with the findings of Functional Movement Screening, the Video Swing Analysis, the Swing Catalyst Balance Plate Evaluation and the K-Vest 3D Swing Analysis; I will prescribe a client-specific exercise and stretch program intended to correct any noted deficiencies, weaknesses and imbalances.
Golf Drill Recommendation and Practice
I will recommend a program of golf drills and golf-specific exercises for integration into the client's practice sessions and home exercise program. When practiced regularly, these drills and exercises will provide the motor training prerequisite to lasting and ongoing golf swing improvement.
Provision of Take-Home Folder
The client is provided with a folder containing a complete review of findings, a video of the V1 Pro Swing Analysis and a written interpretation of the K-Vest 3D Swing Analysis Kinematic sequencing graph. In addition, I will provide handouts detailing all recommended exercises, stretches and golf drills as well as any discussed club recommendations. Many clients find it beneficial to share the information contained within this folder with their coaches, trainers and medical providers.
